University of New Haven

I arrived at UNH in June 2010. I took over as the Offensive Line and Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant. The University of New Haven is a Division 2 school in Connecticut which for 6 years (2004-2008) did not have football. They dropped the program in 2003 due to budgetary reasons which stemmed from them not having a conference affiliation. In 2007 New Haven announced they were bringing football back. They joined the Northeast-10 conference and in 2008 played a JV schedule and in 2009 played its first NCAA Division 2 season. In 2010 (my first year), we finished the season 8-3 and shared the conference as co-champions.

In 2011, with most starters returning, we reached the 3rd round of the Division 2 playoffs losing to Winston-Salem State University. That year we were named the best Division 2 team in the northeast. In 2012 we again won the Northeast-10 conference going undefeated, but lost to Indiana University (PA) in the 2nd round of the playoffs. In 2013, we finished the season 8-3 and unfortunately did not win the conference. That year I was most proud since we had 4 new starters on the offensive line. They stepped up to the challenge and met the expectation of what it took to be an offensive lineman at the University of New Haven.

In my four season at the University of New Haven:

  • 7 All Conference Linemen

  • 2 All Super Region Offensive Linemen

  • 1 Two Time NE-10 Offensive Lineman of the Year

  • 1 Gene Upshaw Lineman of the Year Finalist (best OL in Division 2)
